I dropped Zach off at the train station in Wellington. He had about four connections to get to Bethune, France. It amazes both of us that you can travel across two countries and under an ocean by train. He is a part of a international leadership team that meets quarterly in different areas of the world. This time it is in Bethune. He said it was some remote town. However, if you google the town it is quite quaint. Can you tell I am mildly jealous? That being said, it still meant that he had to exchange pounds for Euros, find yet another converter for all of his electrical devices, and brush up on his France as the train monitors and directions are all in French. A reminder to us mono-lingual Americans that we are a little out of our league.
He is in his second day. My jealousy has subsided a bit because his day started at 6:30 a.m., and he texted me at 10:15 p.m. to say he is still at dinner. The dinners often start at 6:00 p.m. and last until 11:30 p.m. He will spend two more days in all-day meetings and travel home Friday. This will be the longest time we have been away from Zach in the UK. Although the kids and I are so proud of Zach for making this first major international business trip, we will all be ready to be reunited!!
