Sully's 1st Birthday: Cake

So we had the hardest time finding Sullivan a traditional American smash cake.  You either have to go to a true bakery and pay a great deal of money for a cake or get a premade one (mostly made of fondant) at the grocery store.  You are pretty limited.  There is either Peppa Pig, Lightning McQueen, Frozen, Disney Princess, and that's about it.  They are in the bread aisle on the shelf.  We have not found a grocery store bakery.  Zach and Sierra happened upon this cute little lion that was mostly frosting.  The only down side was that because they sit on the shelf the frosting was bit hard and Sully was not able to dig into it.  He really got frustrated with it and didn't really eat any.  I made my first birthday cake ever for the rest of us with some English bunting on top.  We did give him a small slice of that and he tried a little bit and mashed the rest around on his tray.  Sierra and Desmond both annihilated their 1st birthday cakes, so this was a slight break in tradition. However, it meant much less clean-up and we were off to open presents.
